Website design for electricians: what a UK electrician's website needs in 2026
By Andrew Heppinstall, founder of Unavoidable Marketing, Leeds. Last updated 14 October 2026.
An electrician's website should prove you are qualified and make it easy to call. Show your NICEIC or NAPIT registration, give each service its own page (rewires, consumer units, EICRs, EV chargers, fault finding), list the towns you cover, and show real reviews and photos of your work. Make the phone number tappable at the top of every page on mobile.
The ten things every electrician's website needs
- Your competent person scheme, such as NICEIC or NAPIT, with your registration details so customers can check them.
- A page for each service: full and partial rewires, consumer unit upgrades, EICRs, EV charger installs, lighting, fault finding, and commercial work if you do it.
- A clear landlord section. In England, private landlords need an EICR at least every five years, so landlords and letting agents search for this all the time.
- A page for each main town you cover, with real jobs from that area.
- A tap-to-call number and a short quote form on every page.
- Real Google reviews with the customer's first name and town.
- Photos of your own work: neat consumer units and finished installs build trust fast.
- Price guidance for common jobs, even as a range.
- Guarantees and certificates: explain that you issue the right certificates and register notifiable work under Part P.
- Hours that match your Google profile, including whether you take emergency call-outs.
Services that bring electricians the best leads online
| Service | Who searches for it | What the page should cover |
|---|---|---|
| EICR | Landlords, letting agents, house buyers | What it involves, how long it takes, turnaround for the certificate |
| Consumer unit upgrade | Homeowners after an inspection or renovation | Why it might be needed, typical time on site, certificates issued |
| Rewire | Buyers of older homes, renovators | Signs a rewire is needed, disruption, how long it takes |
| EV charger install | New electric car owners | Charger brands you fit, survey process, off-street parking needs |
Getting found on Google and in AI answers
Electricians are often found through Google Maps and, more and more, through AI assistants. Keep your business name, address and phone number identical on your website, Google profile, NICEIC or NAPIT listing and directories. Frequently asked questions
Should I show prices on my electrician website?
Ranges help. Customers and AI assistants both look for cost answers, and a clear range filters out time-wasters without tying you to a fixed price.
Do I need separate pages for domestic and commercial work?
Yes, if you do both. The customers search differently and want different proof, such as testing for businesses or certificates for landlords.
How much does an electrician's website cost?
From a few hundred pounds for a basic template to more for a site built to win work. Our marketing packages, which can include the website, are a flat monthly fee, quoted after a free call.
