What is the difference between Google Local Service Ads and Google Ads?
Google Ads (Search) charges per click and appears in text ad slots. Google Local Service Ads charges per verified lead only and appears in the special LSA block above search ads. Can sole traders get Google Local Service Ads verified in the UK?
Since October 2025, Google restricted LSA verification in the UK to businesses registered with Companies House or holding a VAT number. Sole traders below the VAT threshold of £90,000 turnover cannot currently pass verification. See our Google Guarantee verification guide.
How much does a Google Local Service Ads lead cost in the UK?
Average across UK trades in 2026 is £22 per verified lead, ranging from £15 in rural markets to £42 in central London. Cost per booked job ranges from £65 for plumbers to £138 for landscapers. Download the full data set.
Do I need Gas Safe registration for LSA in the UK?
Only for gas-related trade categories (heating engineers, gas fitters, boiler installers). Gas Safe is separate from LSA verification and both are required for those trades. Other trades need their trade-specific certification (NICEIC for electricians, Competent Roofer for roofers, etc).
Can I dispute LSA leads I do not want?
Yes. LSA is unusual among Google advertising products in that you can dispute invalid leads and get your money back. Google credits within 7 days. Most advertisers do not dispute at all. Active disputing typically recovers £4 to £8 per booked job over a year.
How long does LSA verification take in the UK?
Typically 2 to 4 weeks from submission to LSA badge live. The slowest step is usually the DBS check (10 to 21 working days). Businesses with name mismatches or missing documents can take 6 to 8 weeks.
Do you take a percentage of my Google ad spend?
No. We charge a flat monthly management fee starting from £499. Your ad spend is separate and paid directly to Google on your own card. We never invoice you for ad spend and we never mark it up.
Which UK trades work best on LSA?
Any trade with clear inbound demand and a phone or form response system.
