ProDog Raw was born from a moment of clarity. After reading the ingredient breakdown on the back of a bag of standard dog kibble and seeing just how far removed it was from the natural diet dogs are designed to eat, founder Heidi made a decision – to help dog owners do better for their pets’ health, and to build a business around genuinely honest nutrition.
The mission was clear from day one: to create raw dog food meals, premium supplements, and natural treats that were convenient, clean, and as close to nature as a dog’s diet can get. To cut through the marketing myths created by giant pet food corporations and give dog owners the facts they needed to make better choices.
What started as a passion project with a clear purpose has grown into one of the UK’s most respected raw dog food brands. ProDog Raw is now DEFRA-accredited, UK Pet Food certified, sold through stockists across the country, trusted by police dog units nationwide, and supports two dedicated dog charities. Their food is formulated by expert canine nutritionists, tested for Salmonella and E.coli as per DEFRA requirements, and meets strict FEDIAF nutritional guidelines.
But when we first started working with ProDog Raw, none of that existed yet. There was no website. No social media. No customers. No brand presence at all. Just a founder with a brilliant idea, a genuine mission, and the determination to make it happen.
We were there from the very beginning.
π From Zero, the first-ever website, first ever social media
π± Thousands Social media followers grown from scratch
π Full E-Commerce Complete WooCommerce store built and launched
πΎ Now National Stocked across the UK with DEFRA accreditation
Launching a raw dog food business from zero is harder than it might sound. The raw feeding community is passionate, knowledgeable, and loyal – but they’re also discerning. They’ve heard the marketing claims from big pet food companies for years and learned to be sceptical. A new brand entering this space couldn’t rely on slick advertising and vague promises. It had to earn trust from day one.
That meant the digital foundation had to be right. Not just functional – genuinely credible.
The first website had one job above all others: to make ProDog Raw look and feel like a brand worth trusting before a single order had been placed. In a market where customers are feeding their dogs a diet that requires them to put real faith in the supplier’s quality standards, a cheap-looking or poorly built website doesn’t just fail to convert – it actively destroys confidence.
The e-commerce build had to work perfectly from launch. ProDog Raw’s entire business model depended on customers being able to find the right product, understand the raw feeding philosophy, add items to their basket, and complete their purchase without friction. A clunky checkout, a confusing product structure, or a broken payment process on day one could have stalled the business before it found its feet. There was no margin for error.
Social media was the growth engine. Raw feeding has always been a community-driven movement. Dog owners who switch to raw feeding become passionate advocates – they share their dogs’ progress, recommend brands to other owners, and build genuine loyalty with businesses they trust. But you can only tap into that community if you show up in it consistently, with content that speaks their language and earns their trust. Starting from zero followers with no brand recognition meant every post had to work hard.
There was no playbook to follow. ProDog Raw wasn’t following a template. This was a brand new business in a growing but niche market, with a founder who needed a digital partner she could rely on – someone who would help her build something real, not just check boxes.
That’s what we set out to do.
The First ProDog Raw Website
We designed and built ProDog Raw’s very first website – the first digital home for a brand that didn’t exist before we created it.
The brief was to build something that immediately communicated trust, quality, and genuine expertise in a market where those qualities aren’t just nice to have – they’re the deciding factor in whether a dog owner hands over their money. Raw feeding carries real responsibility. The website had to reflect the seriousness with which ProDog Raw approached their product standards and their customers’ dogs.
We built a clean, confident, brand-led WordPress website that positioned ProDog Raw as a credible, knowledgeable voice in the raw feeding space from the moment the doors opened. Clear messaging about the brand’s mission and values. Accessible, well-structured information about raw feeding for dog owners at every level of knowledge – from those brand new to raw feeding to experienced owners looking for a better supplier. A design that felt premium without feeling cold or corporate.
This wasn’t just a website. It was the foundation on which an entire business was built.
What was built:
Full WooCommerce E-Commerce Store
Alongside the brand website, we built a complete WooCommerce e-commerce store – the sales engine that would power ProDog Raw’s entire direct-to-consumer business model.
An e-commerce build for a raw dog food business comes with its own specific requirements. Customers need to be able to navigate a product range that covers multiple protein sources, different formulations, various pack sizes, and different life stage products – all while learning about raw feeding if they’re new to it, and making confident, informed purchasing decisions. Getting the product structure, the category hierarchy, and the checkout flow right was critical.
We built a full WooCommerce store covering ProDog Raw’s complete product range – raw food meals, supplements, and treats – with a clean, intuitive shopping experience that guided customers from discovery to purchase as smoothly as possible. Secure online payment processing, order management, and the full checkout infrastructure were all built and tested before a single order was taken.
From the first day ProDog Raw was open for business, customers could find the right product, understand what they were buying, and complete their purchase with confidence. That mattered enormously for a brand with no track record yet and everything to prove.
What was built:
Social Media Management – Zero to Thousands
Perhaps the most transformative part of our work with ProDog Raw was the social media journey – taking a brand new business with no followers, no community, and no recognition whatsoever, and building a genuine, engaged social media presence from the ground up.
The raw feeding community lives on social media. Dog owners share their feeding journeys, post photos of their dogs thriving on raw diets, ask questions, give recommendations, and build real loyalty with the brands they trust. For a new raw dog food business, showing up in that community consistently and authentically wasn’t optional – it was the primary route to building brand awareness and driving the first wave of customers.
We managed ProDog Raw’s social media from day one – creating content that spoke directly to the raw feeding community, educating new dog owners about the benefits of raw feeding, showcasing the quality of ProDog’s products, and building a following that grew from zero into thousands of engaged followers who genuinely believed in the brand.
This wasn’t growth built on gimmicks or paid follower schemes. It was organic community building – showing up every day with content that was genuinely useful, visually consistent, and true to the brand’s values. The kind of following that actually buys products, recommends the brand to friends, and stays loyal as the business grows.
What we managed:
When we started working with ProDog Raw, there was nothing. No website, no social media, no customers, no brand recognition.
Today, ProDog Raw is a nationally recognised raw dog food brand with a story that speaks for itself:
None of this happened overnight. It was built step by step, from the very foundation we helped create. The first website. The first product page. The first social media post. The first customer order.
We were there for all of it.
